And he said: Lord, if I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away from thy servant:


Because thy servant hath found grace before thee, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewn to me, in saving my life, and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil seize me, and I die:


And he said to the elder servant of his house, who was ruler over all he had: Put thy hand under my thigh,


I have oxen, and asses, and sheep, and men-servants, and women-servants: and now I send a message to my lord, that I may find favor in thy sight.


And Jacob said: Do not so I beseech thee, but if I have found favor in thy eyes, receive a little present at my hands: for I have seen thy face, as if I should have seen the countenance of God: be gracious to me,


And Esau said: What are the droves that I met? He answered: That I might find favor before my lord.


But he, in no wise consenting to that wicked act, said to her: Behold, my master hath delivered all things to me, and knoweth not what he hath in his own house.


And his servant Zambri, who was captain of half the horsemen, rebelled against him. Now Ela was drinking in Thersa: and drunk in the house of Arsa the governor of Thersa.


A wise servant is acceptable to the king: he that is good for nothing shall feel his anger.


When the ways of man shall please the Lord, he will convert even his enemies to peace.


A wise servant shall rule over foolish sons, and shall divide the inheritance among the brethren.


Hast thou seen a man swift in his work? he shall stand before kings, and shall not be before those that are obscure.


He that keepeth the fig tree, shall eat the fruit thereof: and he that is the keeper of his master, shall be glorified.


And thou shalt find grace and good understanding before God and men.


Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.


And he answered him: This is the Moabitess who came with Noemi, from the land of Moab:


And Saul sent to Isai, saying: Let David stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.


But the child Samuel advanced, and grew on, and pleased both the Lord and men.
