Then I said: I will not make mention of him nor speak any more in his name. And there came in my heart as a burning fire, shut up in my bones: and I was wearied, not being able to bear it.


Therefore am I full of the fury of the Lord, I am weary with holding in. Pour it out upon the child abroad and upon the council of the young men together: for man and woman shall be taken, the ancient and he that is full of days.


The spirit also lifted me and took me up: and I went away in bitterness in the indignation of my spirit: for the hand of the Lord was with me, strengthening me.


But yet I am filled with the strength of the spirit of the Lord, with judgment, and power: to declare unto Jacob his wickedness, and to Israel his sin.


And I have a baptism wherewith I am to be baptized: and how am I straitened until it be accomplished?


That he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torments.


He findeth first his brother Simon, and saith to him: We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.


The Jews therefore came round about him, and said to him: How long dost thou hold our souls in suspense? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.


And you shall give testimony, because you are with me from the beginning.


You yourselves do bear me witness, that I said, I am not Christ, but that I am sent before him.


And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was appointed by God, to be judge of the living and of the dead.


Then it pleased the apostles and ancients, with the whole church, to choose men of their own company, and to send to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas, who was surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren.


AND he came to Derbe and Lystra. And behold, there was a certain disciple there named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman that believed; but his father was a Gentile.


And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were in this city some days conferring together.


And a vision was shewed to Paul in the night, which was a man of Macedonia standing and beseeching him, and saying: Pass over into Macedonia, and help us.


Declaring and insinuating that the Christ was to suffer, and to rise again from the dead; and that this is Jesus Christ, whom I preach to you.


For with much vigour he convinced the Jews openly, shewing by the scriptures, that Jesus is the Christ.


Therefore let all the house of Israel know most certainly, that God hath made both Lord and Christ, this same Jesus, whom you have crucified.


Testifying both to Jews and Gentiles penance towards God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.


Save that the Holy Ghost in every city witnesseth to me, saying: That bands and afflictions wait for me at Jerusalem.


But I fear none of these things, neither do I count my life more precious than myself, so that I may consummate my course and the ministry of the word which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.


For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.


But Saul increased much more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, affirming that this is the Christ.


For the Son of God, Jesus Christ who was preached among you by us, by me, and Sylvanus, and Timothy, was not, It is and It is not, but, It is, was in him.


And, when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was wanting to me, the brethren supplied who came from Macedonia; and in all things I have kept myself from being burthensome to you, and so I will keep myself.


For the charity of Christ presseth us: judging this, that if one died for all, then all were dead.


But I am straitened between two: having a desire to be dissolved and to be with Christ, a thing by far the better.


And we sent Timothy, our brother, and the minister of God in the gospel of Christ, to confirm you and exhort you concerning your faith:


But now when Timothy came to us from you, and related to us your faith and charity, and that you have a good remembrance of us always, desiring to see us as we also to see you;


By Sylvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I think, I have written briefly: beseeching and testifying that this is the true grace of God, wherein you stand.
