And he called the name of that place, The Lord seeth. Whereupon even to this day it is said: In the mountain the Lord will see.


And there were some of Manasses that went over to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to fight. But he did not fight with them: because the lords of the Philistines taking counsel sent him back, saying: With the danger of our heads he will return to his master Saul.


Moreover day by day there came some to David to help him till they became a great number, like the army of God.


Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.


The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented.


So David and his men arose in the night, that they might set forward in the morning, and returned to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezrahel.
