And there was much weeping among them all; and falling on the neck of Paul, they kissed him,


And Samuel took a little vial of oil; and poured it upon his head; and kissed him; and said: Behold, the Lord hath anointed thee to be prince over his inheritance: and thou shalt deliver his people out of the hands of their enemies, that are round about them. And this shall be a sign unto thee, that God hath anointed thee to be prince.


And David and Jonathan made a covenant: for he loved him as his own soul.


Jonathan therefore gave his arms to the boy, and said to him: Go, and carry them into the city.


And David also rose up after him: and going out of the cave cried after Saul, saying: My lord the king. And Saul looked behind him: and David, bowing himself down to the ground, worshipped,


And when Abigail saw David she made haste and lighted off the ass, and fell before David, on her face, and adored upon the ground.
