She said to him, “My lord, you swore to your servant by the Lord your God, saying, ‘Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.’
So Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was firmly established.
And of all my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in place of David his father. And he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.
Then he died at a good age, full of days, riches, and honor. And Solomon his son reigned in his place.
