The Lord bringeth to nought the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.
let the sea be moved and the fulness thereof: the world end they that dwell therein.
Keep all things that I have said to you. And by the name of strange gods you shall not swear, neither shall it be heard out of your mouth.
In the parts of the torrent is thy portion. This is thy lot. And thou hast poured out libations to them, thou hast offered sacrifice. Shall I not be angry at these things?
And you, that have forsaken the Lord, that have forgotten my holy mount, that set a table for fortune and offer libations upon it,
He that sacrificeth an ox is as if he slew a man: he that killeth a sheep in sacrifice, as if he should brain a dog: he that offereth an oblation, as if he should offer swine's blood; he that remembereth incense, as if he should bless an idol.
