So the wings of the two cherubims were spread forth, and were extended twenty cubits. And they stood upright on their feet, and their faces were turned toward the house without.


Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth.


Let them cover both sides of the propitiatory, spreading their wings, and covering the oracle: and let them look one towards the other, their faces being turned towards the propitiatory wherewith the ark is to be covered.


Behold, they are all in the wrong, and their works are vain: their idols are wind and vanity.


They are turned back. Let them be greatly confounded that trust in a graven thing, that say to a molten thing: You are our god.


That thou mightest open the eyes of the blind, and bring forth the prisoner out of prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.


They are all confounded and ashamed: the forgers of errors are gone together into confusion.


Every man is become a fool for knowledge, every artist is confounded in his graven idol: for what he hath cast is false, and there is no spirit in them.


As the thief is confounded when he is taken, so is the house of Israel confounded, they and their kings, their princes and their priests and their prophets.


I am the Lord your God. You shall not make to yourselves any idol or graven thin: neither shall you erect pillars, nor set up a remarkable stone in your land, to adore it. For I am the Lord your God.


Cursed be the man that maketh a graven and molten thing, the abomination of the Lord, the work of the hands of artificers, and shall put it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say: Amen.

And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith: And let all the angels of God adore him.


To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you they ministered those things which are now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, the Holy Ghost being sent down from heaven, on whom the angels desire to look.


And when the Azotians arose early the next day, behold Dagon lay upon his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him again in his place.
