He that trusteth in his own heart, is a fool: but he that walketh wisely, he shall be saved.
He that feareth man, shall quickly fall: he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be set on high.
For whom hast thou been solicitous and afraid, that thou hast lied and hast not been mindful of me, nor thought on me in thy heart? For I am silent and as one that seeth not: and thou hast forgotten me.
And behold one of them that were with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, drew out his sword: and striking the servant of the high priest, cut off his ear.
Now all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then the disciples all leaving him, fled.
And Peter followed him afar off, even to the court of the high priest. And going in, he sat with the servants, that he might see the end.
But Peter sat without in the court: and there came to him a servant maid, saying: Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilean.
And as he went out of the gate, another maid saw him, and she saith to them that were there: This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.
Well: because of unbelief they were broken off. But thou standest by faith: be not highminded, but fear.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, they shall have their portion in the pool burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
