With such words as these, throughout each day, the woman was pestering the young man, and he was refusing the adultery.


And she, grasping the hem of his garment, said, "Sleep with me." But he, leaving behind the cloak in her hand, fled and went outside.


The eye of the adulterer waits for darkness, saying, "No eye will see me," and he covers his face.


"Stolen waters are more soothing, and secret bread is more pleasant."


If a man is hidden in concealed places, do I not see him, says the Lord? Do I not fill up heaven and earth, says the Lord?


And I will approach you in judgment, and I will be a swift witness against evil-doers, and adulterers, and perjurers, and those who cheat the hired hand in his wages, the widows and the orphans, and who oppress the traveler, and who have not feared me, says the Lord of hosts.


For the things that are done by them in secret are shameful, even to mention.


But let not any kind of fornication, or impurity, or rapacity so much as be named among you, just as is worthy of the saints,
