With such words as these, day by day, both the woman was importunate with the young man, and he refused the adultery.


And she catching the skirt of his garment, said: Lie with me. But he leaving the garment in her hand fled, and went out.


The eye of the adulterer observeth darkness, saying: No eye shall see me. And he will cover his face.


Stolen waters are sweeter, and hidden bread is more pleasant.


Shall a man be hid in secret places and I not see him, saith the Lord? Do not I fill heaven and earth, saith the Lord?


And I will come to you in judgment, and will be a speedy witness against sorcerers, and adulterers, and false swearers, and them that oppress the hireling in his wages; the widows, and the fatherless: and oppress the stranger, and have not feared me, saith the Lord of hosts.


For the things that are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.


But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not so much as be named among you, as becometh saints:
