So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.


The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’


The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called “woman”, for she was taken out of man.’


He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them ‘Mankind’ when they were created.


Jehoiada chose two wives for him, and he had sons and daughters.


Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth.


He answered, ‘Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
