May my accusers be clothed with disgrace and wrapped in shame as in a cloak.


Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures for ever.


I will clothe his enemies with shame, but his head shall be adorned with a radiant crown.’


May all who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.


Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you – majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?


In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel.


They will say of me, “In the Lord alone are deliverance and strength.” ’ All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.


Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word; ‘Your own people who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, “Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy!” Yet they will be put to shame.


Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.


Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.


And no-one dared to ask him any more questions.


After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.


But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.


and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.


keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
