But Micaiah said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.’


‘Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.


But Micaiah said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what my God says.’


he said to him, ‘I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.’


‘This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.


When Jeremiah had finished telling the people all the words of the Lord their God – everything the Lord had sent him to tell them –


‘When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.


You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.


But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says.” Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious people.


But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, “Go, prophesy to my people Israel.”


‘Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.’


That night God came to Balaam and said, ‘Since these men have come to summon you, go with them, but do only what I tell you.’


‘Well, I have come to you now,’ Balaam replied. ‘But I can’t say whatever I please. I must speak only what God puts in my mouth.’


and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’


For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.
