When her owners realised that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the market-place to face the authorities.


‘ “Lord,” I replied, “these people know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.

For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.


as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.


Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.


But you have dishonoured the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
