The Lord is my Rock, {\cf2\super [97]} \par my Fortress, {\cf2\super [98]} \par my Place of Safety.”\par My God is my Rock.\par I run to him for protection.\par God is my shield.\par His power saves me. {\cf2\super [99]} \par The Lord is my hiding place\par high in the hills.\par

My enemy said bad things to me.\par That wicked man yelled at me.\par My enemies were angry and attacked me.\par They brought troubles crashing down on top of me.\par

Has God forgotten what mercy is?\par Has his compassion changed to anger?”\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [436]})\i0 \par


Those people would remember\par that God was their Rock, {\cf2\super [448]} \par They would remember\par that God Most-High saved them.\par


My eyes hurt from \{crying about\}\par all my suffering.\par Lord, I pray to you constantly!\par I lift my arms in prayer to you.\par


God, it is good to play music for you\par on ten-stringed instruments,\par harps, and lyres. {\cf2\super [519]} \par


Again I saw that many people are treated badly. I saw their tears. And I saw that there was no one to comfort those sad people. I saw cruel people had all the power. And I saw that there was no one to comfort the people they hurt.


People of Jacob, this is true!\par Israel, you should believe this!\par So why do you say:\par “The Lord can’t see the way I live.\par God will not find me and punish me.”\par


\{But I say\},\par “Can a woman forget her baby? No!\par Can a woman forget the child\par that came from her body?\par No! A woman can’t forget her children.\par And I (the Lord) can’t forget you.\par
