Lord, I decided my duty is to obey\par your commands.\par


Evil people will not control\par good people’s land forever.\par If that happened, then even good people\par might start doing bad things.\par


The Lord made a promise to David.\par The Lord promised to be loyal to David.\par The Lord promised that the kings would come from David’s family.\par


So I cry to the Lord for help.\par Lord, you are my place of safety.\par Lord, you can let me continue to live.\par

But Jacob’s God {\cf2\super [83]} is not like those idols.\par God made everything.\par And Israel is the family that God chose to be his own people.\par God’s name is “Lord All-Powerful.”\par


I say to myself,\par “The Lord is my God,\par and I trust him.” {\cf2\super [23]} \par


So Jesus is the One God raised from death, \{not David\}! We are all witnesses of this. We saw him!


Jesus is the One that God raised to his right side. God made Jesus our Leader and Savior. God did this so that all Jews can change their hearts and lives. Then God can forgive their sins.


Christ must rule until God puts all enemies under Christ’s control. {\cf2\super [111]}


Don’t be drunk with wine. That will ruin (destroy) you spiritually. But be filled with the Spirit. {\cf2\super [39]}


Those Levites [113] will not get any share of land like the other family groups. The Levites’ share is the Lord himself, just like the Lord said to them.


The Lord’s share is his people; Jacob (Israel) belongs to the Lord.


God gave us land on the other side of the Jordan River. This means that the Jordan River separates us. We were afraid that when your children grew up and ruled your land, they would not remember that we were also your people. They would say to us, ‘You people of Reuben and Gad aren’t part of Israel!’ Then your children would make our children stop worshiping the Lord.


The real reason we wanted our altar was to show our people that we worship the same God as you. This altar will be the proof to you and to us and to all our future children that we worship the Lord. We give our sacrifices, grain offerings and fellowship offerings to the Lord. We wanted your children to grow up and know that we are also people of Israel like yourselves.
