Psalm 16 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Protect me, God,\par because I depend on you.\par

² I said to the Lord,\par “Lord, you are my Master.\par Every good thing I have comes from you.” {\cf2\super [84]} \par

³ The Lord does wonderful things for his followers on earth.\par The Lord shows he truly loves them.\par

⁴ But people who run to worship other gods will have much pain.\par I will not share in their gifts of blood that they offer to those idols.\par I will not even say the names of those idols.\par

⁵ No, my share and my cup\par come only from the Lord.\par Lord, you support me.\par You give me my share.\par

⁶ My share {\cf2\super [85]} is very wonderful.\par My inheritance {\cf2\super [86]} is very beautiful.\par

⁷ I praise the Lord\par because he taught me well.\par Even at night, he put his instructions\par deep inside my mind. {\cf2\super [87]} \par

⁸ I keep the Lord before me always.\par And I will never leave his right side.\par

⁹ So my heart and soul will be very happy.\par Even my body will live in safety.\par

¹⁰ Why? Because, Lord, you will not leave\par my soul in the place of death.\par You will not let your faithful one rot\par in the grave. {\cf2\super [88]} \par

¹¹ You will teach me the right way to live.\par Just being with you, Lord, will bring\par complete happiness.\par Being at your right side will bring\par happiness forever.\par
