My glory and victory comes from God.\par He is my strong fortress.\par God is my place of safety.\par


At that time, the people that are left living in Israel, the people from Jacob’s family, will not continue to depend on the person that beats them. They will learn to truly depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.


God saves me.\par I trust him.\par I am not afraid.\par He saves me.\par The Lord YAH is my strength.\par He saves me.\par And I sing songs of praise about him. {\cf2\super [139]} \par


I myself am the Lord. And there is no other Savior—\{I am the only One\}.


Some people make statues (false gods)—but they are worthless. People love those statues—but the statues are useless. Those people are the witnesses of the statues—but they can’t see. They know nothing—they don’t know enough to be ashamed \{of the things they do\}.


God, you are the God people can’t see.\par You are the Savior of Israel.\par


But Israel will be saved by the Lord.\par That salvation will continue forever.\par Never, never again will Israel be shamed.\par


“You people have escaped from other nations. So gather together and come before me. (These people carry statues of false gods. These people pray to those useless gods. But the people don’t know what they are doing.


Who is this coming from Edom? {\cf2\super [457]} \par He comes from Bozrah. {\cf2\super [458]} \par And his clothes are stained bright red.\par He is glorious in his clothes.\par He is walking tall with his great power.\par He says,\par “I have the power to save you.\par And I speak the truth.”\par


Look! You are our father!\par Abraham doesn’t know us.\par Israel (Jacob) does not recognize us.\par Lord, you are our father!\par You are the One who has always saved us!\par


God, you are the Hope of Israel!\par You save Israel in times of trouble.\par But now it seems like you are\par a stranger in the land.\par It seems like you are a traveler that only stays one night.\par


Lord, if you heal me,\par I truly will be healed.\par Save me,\par and I truly will be saved.\par Lord, I praise you!\par


Their children remember the altars\par that were dedicated to false gods.\par They remember the wooden poles\par that were dedicated to Asherah. {\cf2\super [136]} \par They remember those things\par under the green trees and on the hills.\par


The Lord spoke to me during the time King Josiah was ruling the nation of Judah. The Lord said: “Jeremiah, you saw the bad things that Israel {\cf2\super [15]} did? You saw how she was unfaithful to me. She did the sin of adultery with idols on every hill and under every green tree.


The Lord says:\par “Be happy and sing for Jacob {\cf2\super [248]} !\par Shout for Israel,\par the greatest of the nations!\par Sing your praises and shout:\par ‘The Lord saved his people! {\cf2\super [249]} \par He has saved the people that are left alive\par from the nation of Israel.’\par


But I still brought them to the land I promised to give to them. They saw all the hills and green trees, so they went to all those places to worship. They took their sacrifices and anger offerings {\cf2\super [144]} to all those places. They offered their sacrifices that made a sweet smell and they offered their drink offerings at those places.


But I will show mercy to the nation of Judah. \{I will save the nation of Judah.\} I will not use the bow or the sword to save them. I will not use war horses and soldiers to save them. I will save them by my own power.” {\cf2\super [7]}


You Samaritans {\cf2\super [65]} worship something that you don’t understand. We Jews understand what we worship. Salvation comes from the Jews.
