Job, can you help God spread out the sky,\par and make it shine like polished brass?\par


Long ago, you made the world.\par You made the sky with your own hands!\par


God counts the stars\par and knows the name\par of each and every one.\par


Why? Because the Lord worked six days and made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in them. And on the seventh day, God rested. In this way, the Lord blessed the Sabbath—the day of rest. The Lord made that a very special day.


Who measured the oceans\par in the palm of his hand?\par Who used his hand to measure the sky?\par Who used a bowl to measure all the dust\par of the earth?\par Who used measuring scales to measure\par the mountains and hills?\par \{It was the Lord!\}\par


Surely you know the truth, don’t you?\par Surely you have heard!\par Surely someone told you long ago!\par Surely you understand who made the earth!\par


\{The Lord is the true God!\}\par He sits above the circle of the earth,\par \{and compared to him\}\par people are like grasshoppers.\par He rolled open the skies\par like a piece of cloth.\par He stretched the skies\par like a tent to sit under.\par


Look up to the skies.\par Who created all those stars?\par Who created all those ‘armies’\par \{in the sky\}?\par Who knows every star by name?\par \{The true God\} is very strong and powerful,\par so none of these stars is lost.”\par


The Lord, the \{true\} God, said these things. (The Lord made the skies. The Lord spread the skies over the earth. He also made everything on the earth. The Lord breathes life into all people on earth. The Lord gives a spirit to every person that walks on the earth.)


The Lord made you what you are.\par The Lord did this while you\par were still in your mother’s body.\par The Lord says,\par “I, the Lord, made everything!\par I put the skies there myself!\par I spread the earth before me.”\par


\{So, look\}!\par I made the earth.\par And I made all the people living on it.\par I used my own hands\par and made the skies.\par And I command all the armies in the sky. {\cf2\super [405]} \par


The Lord is God.\par He made the skies and the earth.\par The Lord put the earth in its place.\par The Lord did not want the earth\par to be empty when he made it.\par He created it to be lived on!\par “I am the Lord.\par There is no other God.\par


The Lord made you.\par With his power he made the earth!\par And with his power he spread the skies\par over the earth!\par But you forget him and his power.\par So you are always afraid of angry men\par that hurt you.\par Those men planned to destroy you.\par But where are they now?\par \{They are all gone\}!\par


The Lord used his great power\par and made the earth.\par He used his wisdom to build the world.\par He used his understanding\par to stretch out the skies.\par


Like it is written \{in the Scriptures {\cf2\super [43]} \} “I have made you (Abraham) a father of many nations.” {\cf2\super [44]} This is true before God. Abraham believed in God—the God who gives life to dead people and decides that things will happen that have not yet happened.
