I will talk about all your wise decisions.\par

People walking by them will not say,\par “May the Lord bless you.”\par People will not greet them and say,\par “We bless you in the name of the Lord.”\par


A good person gives good advice.\par His decisions are fair to every person.\par

A good person’s words will help many people. But a fool’s stupidity will kill him.


When a wise person speaks, other people want to listen. But a foolish person speaks only foolishness.


Wise people say things that give you new information. But foolish people say nothing worth hearing.


Their teachings will lead you wherever you go. They will watch over you while you sleep. And when you wake up, they will talk to you and guide you.


People that are alive—\par like me today—\par are the people that praise you.\par A father should tell his children\par that you can be trusted.\par


God’s followers spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to them. There is a book in front of him. In that book are the names of God’s followers. Those are the people that honor the Lord’s name.


A good person has good things saved in his heart. And so he speaks the good things that come from his heart. But an evil person has evil saved in his heart. So he speaks the evil things that come from his heart.

Fathers, don’t make your children angry. But raise your children with the training and teaching of the Lord.


Teach these laws to your children. Talk about these things when you sit in your houses, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.


You and your descendants [34] must respect the Lord your God as long as you live. You must obey all his laws and commands that I give you. If you do this, then you will have a long life in that new land.


When you talk, you should always be kind and wise. Then you will be able to answer every person in the way you should.


But you should keep the Lord Christ holy in your hearts. Always be ready to answer every person who asks you to explain about the hope you have.


The Lord will reward you for all the good things you have done. You will be paid in full by the Lord, the God of Israel. You have come to him for safety, [10] {and he will protect you}.”
