For nation shall fight against nation, and city against city: for the Lord will trouble them with all distress.


And I will set the Egyptians to fight against the Egyptians: and they shall fight brother against brother, and friend against friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.


And it shall be at an instant suddenly. A visitation shall come from the Lord of hosts in thunder, and with earthquake, and with a great noise of whirlwind and tempest, and with the flame of devouring fire.


For thus saith the Lord: Although I shall send in upon Jerusalem my four grievous judgments, the sword and the famine and the mischievous beasts and the pestilence, to destroy out of it man and beast,


I will shew it to be iniquity, iniquity, iniquity: but this was not done till he came to whom judgment belongeth, and I will give it him.


In that day there shall be a great tumult from the Lord among them: and a man shall take the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall be clasped upon his neighbour's hand.


And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there shall be great signs.


And one of them named Agabus, rising up, signified by the Spirit, that there should be a great famine over the whole world, which came to pass under Claudius.


And I will shew wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood and fire, and vapour of smoke.


And in that he saith, Yet once more, he signifieth the translation of the moveable things as made, that those things may remain which are immoveable.


And I saw, when he had opened the sixth seal, and behold there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair: and the whole moon became as blood:


And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying: Come, and see. And behold a black horse, and he that sat on him had a pair of scales in his hand.


And I heard as it were a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying: Two pounds of wheat for a penny, and thrice two pounds of barley for a penny, and see thou hurt not the wine and the oil.


And behold a pale horse, and he that sat upon him, his name was Death, and hell followed him. And power was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to kill with sword, with famine, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
