‘Law after law, law after law, line after line, line after line, a little here, a little there.’


The word of the  Lord will come to them: ‘Law after law, law after law, line after line, line after line, a little here, a little there,’ so they go stumbling backwards, to be broken, trapped, and captured.


‘Son of man, pose a riddle and speak a parable to the house of Israel.


When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.


But while people were sleeping, his enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and left.


He  presented another parable to them: ‘The kingdom of heaven   is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.


He told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like leaven   that a woman took and mixed into twenty kilograms   of flour until all of it was leavened.’


He replied, ‘The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man;


‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a large net thrown into the sea. It collected every kind of fish,


‘For this reason, the kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.


‘For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.


‘Listen   to another parable:   There was a landowner, who planted a vineyard, put a fence round it, dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower.   He leased it to tenant farmers and went away.


‘The kingdom of heaven   is like a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.


‘At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins   who took their lamps   and went out to meet the groom.


and saying, ‘Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near! ’


Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee,  teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every  disease and sickness  among the people.


He said, therefore, ‘What is the kingdom of God like,   and what can I compare it to?


Again he said, ‘What can I compare the kingdom of God   to?


because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You have already heard about this hope in the word of truth,  the gospel


because you have been born again   #– #not of perishable seed  but of imperishable #– #through the living and enduring word of God.
