You can settle in the land of Goshen  and be near me #– #you, your children, and your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and all you have.


There I will sustain you, for there will be five more years of famine. Otherwise, you, your household, and everything you have will become destitute.’ ”


God sent me ahead of you to establish you as a remnant within the land and to keep you alive by a great deliverance.


So Joseph went and informed Pharaoh: ‘My father and my brothers, with their flocks and herds and all that they own, have come from the land of Canaan and are now in the land of Goshen.’


and Joseph made the people servants  from one end of Egypt to the other.


At harvest, you are to give a fifth of it to Pharaoh,  and four-fifths will be yours as seed for the field and as food for yourselves, your households, and your dependents.’


Therefore don’t be afraid. I will take care of you and your children.’  And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.


Honour your father and your mother  so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.


They will hang on him all the glory of his father’s family: the descendants and the offshoots #– #all the small vessels, from bowls to every kind of jar.


Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles,  instead we were gentle  among you, as a nursing mother nurtures her own children.


For the training of the body has limited benefit,  but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.


But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn to practise godliness towards their own family first and to repay their parents, for this pleases God.


But if anyone does not provide  for his own family, especially for his own household, he has denied the faith  and is worse than an unbeliever.


He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. Indeed, your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons,  has given birth to him.’
