and you will live in the land of Goshen. And you will be next to me, you and your sons and the sons of your sons, your sheep and your herds, and all that you possess.


And there I will pasture you, (for there are still five years of famine remaining) lest both you and your house perish, along with all that you possess.'


And God sent me ahead, so that you may be preserved upon the earth, and so that you would be able to have food in order to live.


And so Joseph entered and reported to Pharaoh, saying: "My father and brothers, their sheep and herds, and everything that they possess, have arrived from the land of Canaan. And behold, they stand together in the land of Goshen."


along with all of its people, from the newest borders of Egypt, even to its furthest limits,


so that you may be able to have grain. One fifth part you will give to the king; the remaining four I permit to you, as seed and as food for your families and children.


Do not be afraid. I will pasture you and your little ones." And he consoled them, and he spoke mildly and leniently.


Honor your father and your mother, so that you may have a long life upon the land, which the Lord your God will give to you.


And they will suspend over him all the glory of his father's house: various kinds of vessels and every little article, from the vessels of bowls even to every instrument of music.


And although we could have been a burden to you, as Apostles of Christ, instead we became like little ones in your midst, like a nurse cherishing her children.


For the exercise of the body is somewhat useful. But piety is useful in all things, holding the promise of life, in the present and in the future.


But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let her first learn to manage her own household, and to fulfill, in turn, her own obligation to her parents; for this is acceptable before God.


But if anyone has no concern for his own, and especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith, and he is worse than an unbeliever.


And now you may have someone to comfort your soul and to care for you in old age, for he is born of your daughter-in-law, who loves you, and this is much better for you, than if you had seven sons."
