² H4428For then the kingH894of Babylon'sH2428armyH6696besieged[H8802] H3389JerusalemH3414: and JeremiahH5030the prophetH3607was shut up[H8803] H2691in the courtH4307of the prisonH4428, which was in the kingH3063of Judah'sH1004house.

³ H6667For ZedekiahH4428kingH3063of JudahH3607had shut him up[H8804] H559, saying[H8800] H5012, Wherefore dost thou prophesy[H8737] H559, and say[H8800] H559, Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH5414, Behold, I will give[H8802] H5892this cityH3027into the handH4428of the kingH894of BabylonH3920, and he shall take[H8804]  it;

⁴ H6667And ZedekiahH4428kingH3063of JudahH4422shall not escape[H8735] H3027out of the handH3778of the ChaldeansH5414, but shall surely[H8736] H5414be delivered[H8735] H3027into the handH4428of the kingH894of BabylonH1696, and shall speak[H8765] H6310with him mouthH6310to mouthH5869, and his eyesH7200shall behold[H8799] H5869his eyes;

⁵ H3212And he shall lead[H8686] H6667ZedekiahH894to BabylonH6485, and there shall he be until I visit[H8800] H5002him, saith[H8803] H3068the LORDH3898: though ye fight[H8735] H3778with the ChaldeansH6743, ye shall not prosper[H8686] .

⁷ H2601Behold, HanameelH1121the sonH7967of ShallumH1730thine uncleH935shall come[H8802] H559unto thee, saying[H8800] H7069, Buy[H8798] H7704thee my fieldH6068that is in AnathothH4941: for the rightH1353of redemptionH7069is thine to buy[H8800]  it .

⁸ H2601So HanameelH1730mine uncle'sH1121sonH935came[H8799] H2691to me in the courtH4307of the prisonH1697according to the wordH3068of the LORDH559, and said[H8799] H7069unto me, Buy[H8798] H7704my fieldH6068, I pray thee, that is in AnathothH776, which is in the countryH1144of BenjaminH4941: for the rightH3425of inheritanceH1353is thine, and the redemptionH7069is thine; buy[H8798] H3045it for thyself. Then I knew[H8799] H1697that this was the wordH3068of the LORD.

¹⁰ H3789And I subscribed[H8799] H5612the evidenceH2856, and sealed[H8799] H5749it, and took[H8686] H5707witnessesH8254, and weighed[H8799] H3701him the moneyH3976in the balances.

¹¹ H3947So I took[H8799] H5612the evidenceH4736of the purchaseH2856, both that which was sealed[H8803] H4687according to the lawH2706and customH1540, and that which was open[H8803] :

¹² H5414And I gave[H8799] H5612the evidenceH4736of the purchaseH1263unto BaruchH1121the sonH5374of NeriahH1121, the sonH4271of MaaseiahH5869, in the sightH2601of HanameelH1730mine uncle'sH5869son, and in the presenceH5707of the witnessesH3789that subscribed[H8802] H5612the bookH4736of the purchaseH5869, beforeH3064all the JewsH3427that sat[H8802] H2691in the courtH4307of the prison.

¹³ H6680And I charged[H8762] H1263BaruchH5869beforeH559them, saying[H8800] ,

²⁷ H3068Behold, I am the LORDH430, the GodH1320of all fleshH1697: is there any thingH6381too hard[H8735]  for me?

²⁸ H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH5414; Behold, I will give[H8802] H5892this cityH3027into the handH3778of the ChaldeansH3027, and into the handH5019of NebuchadrezzarH4428kingH894of BabylonH3920, and he shall take[H8804]  it:

²⁹ H3778And the ChaldeansH3898, that fight[H8737] H5892against this cityH935, shall come[H8804] H3341and set[H8689] H784fireH5892on this cityH8313, and burn[H8804] H1004it with the housesH1406, upon whose roofsH6999they have offered incense[H8765] H1168unto BaalH5258, and poured out[H8689] H5262drink offeringsH312unto otherH430godsH3707, to provoke me to anger[H8687] .

³⁰ H1121For the childrenH3478of IsraelH1121and the childrenH3063of JudahH6213have only done[H8802] H7451evilH5869beforeH5271me from their youthH1121: for the childrenH3478of IsraelH3707have only provoked me to anger[H8688] H4639with the workH3027of their handsH5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.

³¹ H5892For this cityH639hath been to me as a provocation of mine angerH2534and of my furyH3117from the dayH1129that they built[H8804] H3117it even unto this dayH5493; that I should remove[H8687] H6440it from before my face,

³² H7451Because of all the evilH1121of the childrenH3478of IsraelH1121and of the childrenH3063of JudahH6213, which they have done[H8804] H3707to provoke me to anger[H8687] H4428, they, their kingsH8269, their princesH3548, their priestsH5030, and their prophetsH376, and the menH3063of JudahH3427, and the inhabitants[H8802] H3389of Jerusalem.

³³ H6437And they have turned[H8799] H6203unto me the backH6440, and not the faceH3925: though I taught[H8763] H7925them, rising up early[H8687] H3925and teaching[H8763] H8085them, yet they have not hearkened[H8802] H3947to receive[H8800] H4148instruction.

³⁴ H7760But they set[H8799] H8251their abominationsH1004in the houseH7121, which is called[H8738] H8034by my nameH2930, to defile[H8763]  it.

³⁵ H1129And they built[H8799] H1116the high placesH1168of BaalH1516, which are in the valleyH1121of the sonH2011of HinnomH1121, to cause their sonsH1323and their daughtersH5674to pass[H8687] H4432through the fire unto MolechH6680; which I commanded[H8765] H5927them not, neither came[H8804] H3820it into my mindH6213, that they should do[H8800] H8441this abominationH3063, to cause JudahH2398to sin[H8687] .

³⁶ H559And now therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH5892, concerning this cityH559, whereof ye say[H8802] H5414, It shall be delivered[H8738] H3027into the handH4428of the kingH894of BabylonH2719by the swordH7458, and by the famineH1698, and by the pestilence;

³⁷ H6908Behold, I will gather them out[H8764] H776of all countriesH5080, whither I have driven[H8689] H639them in mine angerH2534, and in my furyH1419, and in greatH7110wrathH7725; and I will bring them again[H8689] H4725unto this placeH3427, and I will cause them to dwell[H8689] H983safely:

³⁸ H5971And they shall be my peopleH430, and I will be their God:

³⁹ H5414And I will give[H8804] H259them oneH3820heartH259, and oneH1870wayH3372, that they may fear[H8800] H3117me for everH2896, for the goodH1121of them, and of their childrenH310after them:

⁴⁰ H3772And I will make[H8804] H5769an everlastingH1285covenantH7725with them, that I will not turn away[H8799] H310from themH3190, to do them good[H8687] H5414; but I will put[H8799] H3374my fearH3824in their heartsH5493, that they shall not depart[H8800]  from me.

⁴³ H7704And fieldsH7069shall be bought[H8738] H776in this landH559, whereof ye say[H8802] H8077, It is desolateH120without manH929or beastH5414; it is given[H8738] H3027into the handH3778of the Chaldeans.

⁴⁴ H7069Men shall buy[H8799] H7704fieldsH3701for moneyH3789, and subscribe[H8800] H5612evidencesH2856, and seal[H8800] H5749them, and take[H8687] H5707witnessesH776in the landH1144of BenjaminH5439, and in the places aboutH3389JerusalemH5892, and in the citiesH3063of JudahH5892, and in the citiesH2022of the mountainsH5892, and in the citiesH8219of the valleyH5892, and in the citiesH5045of the southH7622: for I will cause their captivityH7725to return[H8686] H5002, saith[H8803] H3068the LORD.
