³ H5315And his soulH1692clave[H8799] H1783unto DinahH1323the daughterH3290of JacobH157, and he loved[H8799] H5291the damselH1696, and spake[H8762] H3820kindlyH5291unto the damsel.

⁴ H7927And ShechemH559spake[H8799] H1unto his fatherH2544HamorH559, saying[H8800] H3947, Get[H8798] H3207me this damselH802to wife.

¹⁴ H559And they said[H8799] H3808unto them, We cannotH3201 [H8799] H6213do[H8800] H1697this thingH5414, to give[H8800] H269our sisterH376to oneH6190that is uncircumcisedH2781; for that were a reproach unto us:

¹⁵ H2063But in thisH225will we consent[H8735] H2145unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every maleH4135of you be circumcised[H8736] ;

¹⁶ H5414Then will we give[H8804] H1323our daughtersH3947unto you, and we will take[H8799] H1323your daughtersH3427to us, and we will dwell[H8804] H259with you, and we will become oneH5971people.

¹⁷ H8085But if ye will not hearken[H8799] H4135unto us, to be circumcised[H8736] H3947; then will we take[H8804] H1323our daughterH1980, and we will be gone[H8804] .

²³ H4735Shall not their cattleH7075and their substanceH929and every beastH225of theirs be ours? only let us consent[H8735] H3427unto them, and they will dwell[H8799]  with us.

³⁰ H3290And JacobH559said[H8799] H8095to SimeonH3878and LeviH5916, Ye have troubled[H8804] H887me to make me to stink[H8687] H3427among the inhabitants[H8802] H776of the landH3669, among the CanaanitesH6522and the PerizzitesH4962: and I being fewH4557in numberH622, they shall gather themselves together[H8738] H5221against me, and slay me[H8689] H8045; and I shall be destroyed[H8738] H1004, I and my house.
