² H3117And it came to pass at that timeH5941, when EliH7901was laid down[H8802] H4725in his placeH5869, and his eyesH2490began[H8689] H3544to wax dimH3201, that he could[H8799] H7200not see[H8800] ;

³ H5216And ere the lampH430of GodH3518went out[H8799] H1964in the templeH3068of the LORDH727, where the arkH430of GodH8050was, and SamuelH7901was laid down[H8802]  to sleep;

⁴ H3068That the LORDH7121called[H8799] H8050SamuelH559: and he answered[H8799] , Here am I.

⁵ H7323And he ran[H8799] H5941unto EliH559, and said[H8799] H2009, Here am IH7121; for thou calledst[H8804] H559me. And he said[H8799] H7121, I called[H8804] H7901not; lie down[H8798] H7725again[H8798] H3212. And he went[H8799] H7901and lay down[H8799] .

⁶ H3068And the LORDH7121called[H8800] H3254yet again[H8686] H8050, SamuelH8050. And SamuelH6965arose[H8799] H3212and went[H8799] H5941to EliH559, and said[H8799] H7121, Here am I; for thou didst call[H8804] H559me. And he answered[H8799] H7121, I called[H8804] H1121not, my sonH7901; lie down[H8798] H7725again[H8798] .

⁷ H8050Now SamuelH2962did not yetH3045know[H8804] H3068the LORDH1697, neither was the wordH3068of the LORDH1540yet revealed[H8735]  unto him.

⁸ H3068And the LORDH7121called[H8800] H8050SamuelH3254again[H8686] H7992the third timeH6965. And he arose[H8799] H3212and went[H8799] H5941to EliH559, and said[H8799] H7121, Here am I; for thou didst call[H8804] H5941me. And EliH995perceived[H8799] H3068that the LORDH7121had called[H8802] H5288the child.

⁹ H5941Therefore EliH559said[H8799] H8050unto SamuelH3212, Go[H8798] H7901, lie down[H8798] H7121: and it shall be, if he call[H8799] H559thee, that thou shalt say[H8804] H1696, Speak[H8761] H3068, LORDH5650; for thy servantH8085heareth[H8802] H8050. So SamuelH3212went[H8799] H7901and lay down[H8799] H4725in his place.

¹⁰ H3068And the LORDH935came[H8799] H3320, and stood[H8691] H7121, and called[H8799] H6471as at other timesH8050, SamuelH8050, SamuelH8050. Then SamuelH559answered[H8799] H1696, Speak[H8761] H5650; for thy servantH8085heareth[H8802] .

¹¹ H3068And the LORDH559said[H8799] H8050to SamuelH6213, Behold, I will do[H8802] H1697a thingH3478in IsraelH8147, at which bothH241the earsH8085of every one that heareth[H8802] H6750it shall tingle[H8799] .

¹² H3117In that dayH6965I will perform[H8686] H5941against EliH1696all things which I have spoken[H8765] H413concerningH1004his houseH2490: when I begin[H8687] H3615, I will also make an end[H8763] .

¹³ H5046For I have told[H8689] H8199him that I will judge[H8802] H1004his houseH5704forH5769everH5771for the iniquityH3045which he knoweth[H8804] H1121; because his sonsH7043made themselves vile[H8764] H3543, and he restrained[H8765]  them not.

¹⁴ H7650And therefore I have sworn[H8738] H1004unto the houseH5941of EliH5771, that the iniquityH5941of Eli'sH1004houseH3722shall not be purged[H8691] H2077with sacrificeH4503nor offeringH5704forH5769ever.

¹⁵ H8050And SamuelH7901lay[H8799] H1242until the morningH6605, and opened[H8799] H1817the doorsH1004of the houseH3068of the LORDH8050. And SamuelH3372feared[H8804] H5046to shew[H8687] H5941EliH4759the vision.

¹⁶ H5941Then EliH7121called[H8799] H8050SamuelH559, and said[H8799] H8050, SamuelH1121, my sonH559. And he answered[H8799] , Here am I.

¹⁷ H559And he said[H8799] H1697, What is the thingH1696that the LORD hath said[H8765] H3582unto thee? I pray thee hide[H8762] H430it not from me: GodH6213do so[H8799] H3254to thee, and more also[H8686] H3582, if thou hide[H8762] H1697any thingH1697from me of all the thingsH1696that he said[H8765]  unto thee.

¹⁸ H8050And SamuelH5046told[H8686] H1697him every whitH3582, and hid[H8765] H559nothing from him. And he said[H8799] H3068, It is the LORDH6213: let him do[H8799] H5869what seemethH2896him good.

¹⁹ H8050And SamuelH1431grew[H8799] H3068, and the LORDH1697was with him, and did let none of his wordsH5307fall[H8689] H776to the ground.

²⁰ H3478And all IsraelH1835from DanH884even to BeershebaH3045knew[H8799] H8050that SamuelH539was established[H8737] H5030to be a prophetH3068of the LORD.

²¹ H3068And the LORDH7200appeared[H8736] H3254again[H8686] H7887in ShilohH3068: for the LORDH1540revealed[H8738] H8050himself to SamuelH7887in ShilohH1697by the wordH3068of the LORD.
