³ H7651And he had sevenH3967hundredH802wivesH8282, princessesH7969, and threeH3967hundredH6370concubinesH802: and his wivesH5186turned away[H8686] H3820his heart.

⁴ H6256For it came to pass, whenH8010SolomonH2209was oldH802, that his wivesH5186turned away[H8689] H3824his heartH310afterH312otherH430godsH3824: and his heartH8003was not perfectH3068with the LORDH430his GodH3824, as was the heartH1732of DavidH1his father.

⁶ H8010And SolomonH6213did[H8799] H7451evilH5869in the sightH3068of the LORDH4390, and went not fully[H8765] H310afterH3068the LORDH1732, as did DavidH1his father.

⁷ H8010Then did SolomonH1129build[H8799] H1116an high placeH3645for ChemoshH8251, the abominationH4124of MoabH2022, in the hillH6440that is beforeH3389JerusalemH4432, and for MolechH8251, the abominationH1121of the childrenH5983of Ammon.

⁸ H6213And likewise did[H8804] H5237he for all his strangeH802wivesH6999, which burnt incense[H8688] H2076and sacrificed[H8764] H430unto their gods.

⁹ H3068And the LORDH599was angry[H8691] H8010with SolomonH3824, because his heartH5186was turned[H8804] H3068from the LORDH430GodH3478of IsraelH7200, which had appeared[H8738] H6471unto him twice,

¹¹ H3068Wherefore the LORDH559said[H8799] H8010unto SolomonH8104, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept[H8804] H1285my covenantH2708and my statutesH6680, which I have commanded[H8765] H7167thee, I will surely[H8800] H7167rend[H8799] H4467the kingdomH5414from thee, and will give[H8804] H5650it to thy servant.

¹² H3117Notwithstanding in thy daysH6213I will not do[H8799] H1732it for DavidH1thy father'sH7167sake: but I will rend[H8799] H3027it out of the handH1121of thy son.

¹³ H7535HowbeitH7167I will not rend away[H8799] H4467all the kingdomH5414; but will give[H8799] H259oneH7626tribeH1121to thy sonH1732for DavidH5650my servant'sH3389sake, and for Jerusalem'sH977sake which I have chosen[H8804] .

¹⁴ H3068And the LORDH6965stirred up[H8686] H7854an adversaryH8010unto SolomonH1908, HadadH130the EdomiteH4428: he was of the king'sH2233seedH123in Edom.

¹⁵ H1732For it came to pass, when DavidH123was in EdomH3097, and JoabH8269the captainH6635of the hostH5927was gone up[H8800] H6912to bury[H8763] H2491the slainH5221, after he had smitten[H8686] H2145every maleH123in Edom;

¹⁶ H8337(For sixH2320monthsH3097did JoabH3427remain[H8804] H3478there with all IsraelH3772, until he had cut off[H8689] H2145every maleH123in Edom:)

²² H6547Then PharaohH559said[H8799] H2638unto him, But what hast thou lackedH1245with me, that, behold, thou seekest[H8764] H3212to go[H8800] H776to thine own countryH559? And he answered[H8799] H7971, Nothing: howbeit let me go[H8762] H7971in any wise[H8763] .

²⁸ H376And the manH3379JeroboamH1368was a mighty manH2428of valourH8010: and SolomonH7200seeing[H8799] H5288the young manH6213that he was industrious[H8802] H4399 H6485, he made him ruler[H8686] H5447over all the chargeH1004of the houseH3130of Joseph.

³³ H5800Because that they have forsaken[H8804] H7812me, and have worshipped[H8691] H6253AshtorethH430the goddessH6722of the ZidoniansH3645, ChemoshH430the godH4124of the MoabitesH4445, and MilcomH430the godH1121of the childrenH5983of AmmonH1980, and have not walked[H8804] H1870in my waysH6213, to do[H8800] H3477that which is rightH5869in mine eyesH2708, and to keep my statutesH4941and my judgmentsH1732, as did DavidH1his father.

³⁴ H3947Howbeit I will not take[H8799] H4467the whole kingdomH3027out of his handH7896: but I will make[H8799] H5387him princeH3117all the daysH2416of his lifeH1732for DavidH5650my servant'sH977sake, whom I chose[H8804] H8104, because he kept[H8804] H4687my commandmentsH2708and my statutes:

³⁵ H3947But I will take[H8804] H4410the kingdomH1121out of his son'sH3027handH5414, and will give[H8804] H6235it unto thee, even tenH7626tribes.

³⁶ H1121And unto his sonH5414will I give[H8799] H259oneH7626tribeH1732, that DavidH5650my servantH5216may have a lightH3117alwayH6440beforeH3389me in JerusalemH5892, the cityH977which I have chosen[H8804] H7760me to put[H8800] H8034my name there.

³⁷ H3947And I will take[H8799] H4427thee, and thou shalt reign[H8804] H5315according to all that thy soulH183desireth[H8762] H4428, and shalt be kingH3478over Israel.

³⁸ H8085And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken[H8799] H6680unto all that I command[H8762] H1980thee, and wilt walk[H8804] H1870in my waysH6213, and do[H8804] H3477that is rightH5869in my sightH8104, to keep[H8800] H2708my statutesH4687and my commandmentsH1732, as DavidH5650my servantH6213did[H8804] H1129; that I will be with thee, and build[H8804] H539thee a sure[H8737] H1004houseH1129, as I built[H8804] H1732for DavidH5414, and will give[H8804] H3478Israel unto thee.

³⁹ H6031And I will for this afflict[H8762] H2233the seedH1732of DavidH3117, but not for ever.

⁴⁰ H8010SolomonH1245sought[H8762] H4191therefore to kill[H8687] H3379JeroboamH3379. And JeroboamH6965arose[H8799] H1272, and fled[H8799] H4714into EgyptH7895, unto ShishakH4428kingH4714of EgyptH4714, and was in EgyptH4194until the deathH8010of Solomon.

⁴¹ H3499And the restH1697of the actsH8010of SolomonH6213, and all that he did[H8804] H2451, and his wisdomH3789, are they not written[H8803] H5612in the bookH1697of the actsH8010of Solomon?

⁴² H3117And the timeH8010that SolomonH4427reigned[H8804] H3389in JerusalemH3478over all IsraelH705was fortyH8141years.

⁴³ H8010And SolomonH7901slept[H8799] H1with his fathersH6912, and was buried[H8735] H5892in the cityH1732of DavidH1his fatherH7346: and RehoboamH1121his sonH4427reigned[H8799]  in his stead.
