Psalm 64 - Easy To Read Version

¹ God, listen to me.\par My enemy threatened me.\par Protect my life from him!\par

² Protect me from the secret plans of my enemies.\par Hide me from those wicked people.\par

³ They have told many bad lies about me.\par Their tongues are like sharp swords,\par their bitter words like arrows.\par

⁴ Then suddenly, without fear, {\cf2\super [372]} \par they shoot from their hiding places,\par at a simple, honest man.\par

⁵ They encourage each other to do wrong.\par They talk about setting their traps.\par They tell each other,\par “No one will see the traps!”\par

⁶ They have hidden their traps.\par They are looking for victims. {\cf2\super [373]} \par (People can be very tricky.\par It is hard to know\par what people are thinking.)\par

⁷ But God can shoot his “arrows” too!\par And before they know it,\par the evil people are wounded.\par

⁸ Evil people plan to do bad things\par to other people.\par But God can \{ruin their plans,\}\par and make those bad things\par happen to them.\par Then everyone that sees them\par will shake their heads in amazement.\par

⁹ People will see what God has done.\par They will tell other people about him.\par Then everyone will learn more about God.\par They will learn to fear and respect him.\par

¹⁰ A good person is happy \{to serve\} the Lord.\par He depends on God.\par And when good honest people\par \{see what happens\},\par they praise the Lord!\par
