¹ Praise the Lord!\par My soul, praise the Lord!\par

² I will praise the Lord all my life.\par I will sing praises to him all my life.\par

³ Don’t depend on your leaders for help.\par Don’t trust people.\par Why? Because people can’t save you.\par

⁴ People die and are buried.\par And then, all of their plans to help\par are gone.\par

⁵ But people who ask God for help\par are very happy.\par Those people depend on the Lord their God.\par

⁶ The Lord made heaven and earth.\par The Lord made the sea\par and everything in it.\par The Lord will protect them forever.\par

⁷ The Lord does right things for people\par who have been hurt.\par God gives food to hungry people.\par The Lord frees people locked in prison.\par

⁸ The Lord helps blind people see again.\par The Lord helps people who are in trouble.\par The Lord loves good people.\par

⁹ The Lord protects strangers {\cf2\super [647]} in our country.\par The Lord cares for widows {\cf2\super [648]} and orphans. {\cf2\super [649]} \par But the Lord destroys bad people.\par
