¹ Lord, save me from evil people.\par Protect me from cruel people.\par

² Those people plan to do evil things.\par Those people always start fights.\par

³ Their tongues are like poisonous snakes.\par It is like snake poison is under their tongue.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [638]})\i0 \par

⁴ Lord, save me from wicked people.\par Protect me from cruel people.\par Those people chase me and try to hurt me.\par

⁵ Those proud people set a trap for me.\par They spread a net to catch me.\par They set a trap in my path.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [639]})\i0 \par

⁶ Lord, you are my God.\par Lord, listen to my prayer.\par

⁷ Lord, you are my strong Master.\par You are my Savior.\par You are like a helmet protecting my head in battle.\par

⁸ Lord, those people are wicked.\par Don’t let them have what they want.\par Don’t let their plans succeed.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [640]})\i0 \par

⁹ Lord, don’t let my enemies win.\par Those people are planning bad things.\par But make those bad things happen to them.\par

¹⁰ Pour burning coals on their heads.\par Throw my enemies into the fire.\par Throw them into the pit (grave)\par that they will never climb out of.\par

¹¹ Lord, don’t let those liars live.\par Make bad things happen\par to those bad people.\par

¹² I know the Lord will judge poor people fairly.\par God will help helpless people.\par

¹³ Good people will praise your name, Lord.\par Good people will worship you.\par
