but the anxieties of this age, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
As they went on their way, Jesus came to a village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.

The seed that fell among the thorns are those who have heard, but as they go on their way, they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, so they bring no fruit to maturity.
