There are many words that have much vanity in disputing.


And the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts after other things entering in choke the word, and it is made fruitless.


Now it came to pass as they went, that he entered into a certain town: and a certain woman named Martha, received him into her house.


But Martha was busy about much serving. Who stood and said: Lord, hast thou no care that my sister hath left me alone to serve? speak to her therefore, that she help me.


And he said to his disciples: Therefore I say to you, be not solicitous for your life, what you shall eat; nor for your body, what you shall put on.


And take heed to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly.


And that which fell among thorns, are they who have heard, and going their way, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit.


NOW there was a certain man sick, named Lazarus, of Bethania, of the town of Mary and Martha her sister.


Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister Mary, and Lazarus.


And they made him a supper there: and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that were at table with him.


Be nothing solicitous; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God.
