If my head is held high, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me.


YHWH will go out like a hero. Hᴇ will stir up zeal like warrior. Hᴇ will raise a war cry. Yes, ʜᴇ will shout aloud. Hᴇ will triumph over ʜɪꜱ enemies.


He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.


Therefore a lion out of the forest will kill them. A wolf of the evenings will destroy them. A leopard will watch against their cities. Everyone who goes out there will be torn in pieces, because their transgressions are many and their backsliding has increased.


He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in hiding.


For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear in pieces and go away. I will carry off, and there will be no one to deliver.


He said: “YHWH will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds will mourn, and the top of Carmel will wither.”


Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?


The lion has roared. Who will not fear? Lord YHWH has spoken. Who can but prophesy?


The beast that I saw resembled a leopard, and his feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
