He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of YHWH. Then two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of those youths.


Save me from the lion’s mouth! Yes, you have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen.


Better for a person to meet a bear robbed of her cubs, than a fool in their folly.


As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people.


Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they will roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.


Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? If so, then y’all might be able to do good, who are accustomed to do evil.


Therefore a lion out of the forest will kill them. A wolf of the evenings will destroy them. A leopard will watch against their cities. Everyone who goes out there will be torn in pieces, because their transgressions are many and their backsliding has increased.


They will walk after YHWH, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.


YHWH says: “As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so will the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.”


As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him, or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.


Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.


But the Lord stood by me and empowered me, so that through me the message might be fully accomplished, and all the ethnic groups would hear it. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.


Y’all be sober-minded and alert. Y’all’s adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.


When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who gave birth to the male child.


The serpent spewed water out of its mouth like a river after the woman to make her be carried away by the waters.


The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.


It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence. It makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.


They worshiped the dragon because it gave authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to wage war against it?”


The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its empire was covered in darkness. They gnawed their tongues because of the pain,


The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received an empire, but they will receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour.


The beast was seized, and with it the false prophet who made the signs in its presence and deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.


“I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you hold firmly to my name and didn’t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among y’all, where Satan dwells.


He seized the dragon, the old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
