and said unto him: hearest thou what these say? Iesus said unto them: have ye never read, of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast ordained praise?
¶ Iesus said unto them: did ye never read in the scriptures? The same stone which the builders refused, is set in the principal part of the corner: this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
Then said Iesus unto him, avoid Satan. For it is written, thou shalt worship thy Lord God, and him only, shalt thou serve.
He answered and said: it is written, man shall not live only by bread, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
