Then the Lord appeared to Abram, and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.


for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants for ever.


Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”


“I am a stranger and a sojourner among you; give me property among you for a burying place, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”


And the Lord appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of Abraham your father; fear not, for I am with you and will bless you and multiply your descendants for my servant Abraham's sake.”


May he give the blessing of Abraham to you and to your descendants with you, that you may take possession of the land of your sojournings which God gave to Abraham!”


And Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre, or Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had sojourned.


For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together; the land of their sojournings could not support them because of their cattle.


Jacob dwelt in the land of his father's sojournings, in the land of Canaan.


and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your descendants after you for an everlasting possession.’


Yea, does not my house stand so with God? For he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure. For will he not cause to prosper all my help and my desire?


saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, as your portion for an inheritance.”


But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children,


saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.”


the covenant which he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,


“And when the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as he swore to you and your fathers, and shall give it to you,


then his master shall bring him to God, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for life.


And I will dwell among the people of Israel, and will be their God.


Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou didst swear by thine own self, and didst say to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it for ever.’ ”


and anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may serve me as priests: and their anointing shall admit them to a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.”


I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they dwelt as sojourners.


and I will take you for my people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.


saying, ‘Turn now, every one of you, from his evil way and wrong doings, and dwell upon the land which the Lord has given to you and your fathers from of old and for ever;


“At that time, says the Lord, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.”


that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and obey them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.


“Son of man, the inhabitants of these waste places in the land of Israel keep saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, yet he got possession of the land; but we are many; the land is surely given us to possess.’


“When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession, and I put a leprous disease in a house in the land of your possession,


And this shall be an everlasting statute for you, that atonement may be made for the people of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” And Moses did as the Lord commanded him.


And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be my people.


and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be my people and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness.”


And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you’; come with us, and we will do you good; for the Lord has promised good to Israel.”


and it shall be to him, and to his descendants after him, the covenant of a perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God, and made atonement for the people of Israel.’ ”


The Lord said to Moses, “Go up into this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the people of Israel.


yet he gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot's length, but promised to give it to him in possession and to his posterity after him, though he had no child.


For you are a people holy to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, out of all the peoples that are on the face of the earth.


and the Lord has declared this day concerning you that you are a people for his own possession, as he has promised you, and that you are to keep all his commandments,


that he may establish you this day as his people, and that he may be your God, as he promised you, and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.


“Ascend this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho; and view the land of Canaan, which I give to the people of Israel for a possession;


When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of men, he fixed the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.


And the Lord said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”


And because he loved your fathers and chose their descendants after them, and brought you out of Egypt with his own presence, by his great power,


Not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart are you going in to possess their land; but because of the wickedness of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and that he may confirm the word which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.


Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred which redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant.


“Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.


He who conquers shall have this heritage, and I will be his God and he shall be my son.
