For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, their shafts on string they fit, That those who upright are in heart they privily may hit.


Lord, keep me safely from the snares which they for me prepare; And from the subtile gins of them that wicked workers are.


My soul among fierce lions is, I firebrands live among, Men's sons, whose teeth are spears and darts, a sharp sword is their tongue.


Let them like waters melt away, which downward still do flow: In pieces cut his arrows all, when he shall bend his bow.
