If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.”


Do not let the slanderer be established in the land; let evil speedily hunt down the violent!


Many are the torments of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.


He will repay my enemies for their evil. In your faithfulness, put an end to them.


If the righteous are repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!


Those who despise the word bring destruction on themselves, but those who respect the commandment will be rewarded.


Evil will not depart from the house of one who returns evil for good.


for though they fall seven times, they will rise again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.


But evil shall come upon you, which you cannot charm away; disaster shall fall upon you, which you will not be able to ward off; and ruin shall come on you suddenly, of which you know nothing.


Thus says the Lord God: Disaster after disaster! See, it comes.


But if you do not do this, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.
