Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you.

He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.


Now God did not subject the coming world, about which we are speaking, to angels.

how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!


Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.


He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.


For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,


and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.


We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
