Did I conceive all this people? Did I give birth to them, that you should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a sucking child,’ to the land that you promised on oath to their ancestors?


Thus I make it my ambition to proclaim the good news, not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on someone else's foundation,


He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,


Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand,


According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it.


I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.


The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each.


If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.


In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.


If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel!


What then is my reward? Just this: that in my proclamation I may make the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my rights in the gospel.


I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.


For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.


Therefore the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith.


But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian,


My little children, for whom I am again in the pain of childbirth until Christ is formed in you,


For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires,


To Titus, my loyal child in the faith we share: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.


I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand: I will repay it. I say nothing about your owing me even your own self.


In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.


You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
