the magicians said to Pharaoh, ‘This is the finger of God.’ But Pharaoh’s heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the Lord had said.


‘In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure for ever.


But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.


and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.’


News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralysed; and he healed them.


“Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: the kingdom of God has come near.”


Heal those there who are ill and tell them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.”


‘When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.


‘Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again.


All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
