Aviner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ish-Boshet the son of Sha'ul, went out from Machanayim to Giv`on.


Chizkiyahu answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to decline ten steps: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.


Yeshaiyahu the prophet cried to the LORD; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Achaz.


Yeshaiyahu said, This shall be the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?


and Beri`ah, and Shema, who were heads of fathers' [houses] of the inhabitants of Ayalon, who put to flight the inhabitants of Gat;


and Tzor`ah, and Ayalon, and Chevron, which are in Yehudah and in Binyamin, fortified cities.


He commands the sun, and it doesn't rise, and seals up the stars.


Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars!


Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,
