Now Mesha king of Mo'av was a sheep breeder; and he rendered to the king of Yisra'el the wool of one hundred thousand lambs, and of one hundred thousand rams.


Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn't come to rest.


As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from his home.


It will happen that like a a hunted gazelle, and like sheep that no one gathers, they will each turn to their own people, and will each flee to their own land.


Mo'av is disappointed; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell you it by the Arnon, that Mo'av is laid waste.


Woe to you, O Mo'av! the people of Kemosh is undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.


Give wings to Mo'av, that she may fly and get her away: and her cities shall become a desolation, without any to dwell therein.


Woe to you, Mo'av! You are undone, people of Kemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sichon king of the Amori.


From `Aro`er, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and [from] the city that is in the valley, even to Gil`ad, there was not a city too high for us; the LORD our God delivered up all before us:

We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amori who were beyond the Yarden, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Chermon;


Their border was from `Aro`er, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeva;


Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Mo'av, and came by the east side of the land of Mo'av, and they encamped on the other side of the Arnon; but they didn't come within the border of Mo'av, for the Arnon was the border of Mo'av.
