They passed over the Yarden, and encamped in `Aro`er, on the right side of the city that is in the middle of the valley of Gad, and to Ya`zer:


from the Yarden eastward, all the land of Gil`ad, the Gadi, and the Re'uveni, and the Manashi, from `Aro`er, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gil`ad and Bashan.


For they didn't get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.


I will set your border from the Sea of Suf even to the sea of the Pelishtim, and from the wilderness to the River; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.


The cities of `Aro`er are forsaken. They will be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.


Inhabitant of `Aro`er, stand by the way, and watch: ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say, What has been done?


The children of Gad built Divon, and `Atrot, and `Aro`er,


What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?


This land we took in possession at that time: from `Aro`er, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gil`ad, and the cities of it, gave I to the Re'uveni and to the Gadi:
