For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.


*Those who trust in engraved images, who tell molten images, 'You are our gods' will be turned back. They will be utterly disappointed.


LORD, the hope of Yisra'el, all who forsake you shall be disappointed. Those who depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the spring of living waters.


Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will raise up against Bavel, and against those who dwell in Lev-Kamai, a destroying wind.


When it is my desire, I will chastise them; and the nations will be gathered against them, when they are bound to their two transgressions.


It also will be carried to Ashur for a present to a great king. Efrayim will receive shame, and Yisra'el will be ashamed of his own counsel.


Efrayim feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and desolation. They make a covenant with Ashur, and oil is carried into Egypt.


Though he is fruitful among his brothers, an east wind will come, the breath of the LORD coming up from the wilderness; and his spring will become dry, and his fountain will be dried up. He will plunder the storehouse of treasure.
