and blessed be El `Elyon, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.* Avram gave him a tenth of all.


then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God's house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you.*


Let Par`oh do this, and let him appoint overseers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt's produce in the seven plenteous years.


Only he didn't buy the land of the Kohanim, for the Kohanim had a portion from Par`oh, and ate their portion which Par`oh gave them. That is why they didn't sell their land.


They said, *You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Par`oh's servants.*


Also we inform you, that touching any of the Kohanim and Levites, the singers, porters, temple servants 1, or servants of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll, on them.


Therefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pride of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be profaned.


*'All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the LORD's. It is holy to the LORD.


To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Yisra'el for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the tent of meeting.


You shall surely tithe all the increase of your seed, that which comes forth from the field year by year.


When you have made an end of tithing all the tithe of your increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within your gates, and be filled.
