And blessed be the most high God, by whose protection the enemies are in thy hands. And he gave him the tithes of all.


And this stone, which I have set up for a title, shall called the house of God: and of all things that thou shalt give to me, I will offer tithes to thee.


That he may appoint overseers over all the countries; and gather into barns the fifth part of the fruits, during the seven fruitful years,


Except the land of the priests, which had been given them by the king: to whom also a certain allowance of food was given out of the public stores. And therefore they were not forced to sell their possessions.


And they answered: Our life is in thy hand. Only let my lord look favourably upon us, and we will gladly serve the king.


We give you also to understand concerning all the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nathinites, and ministers of the house of this God, that you have no authority to impose toll or tribute, or custom upon them.


And I will bring the worse of the nations and they shall possess their houses: and I will make the pride of the mighty to cease and they shall possess their sanctuary.


All tithes of the land, whether of corn, or of the fruits of trees, are the Lord's, and are sanctified to him.


And I have given to the sons of Levi all the tithes of Israel for a possession, for the ministry wherewith they serve me in the tabernacle of the covenant:


Every year thou shalt set aside the tithes of all thy fruits that the earth bringeth forth,


When thou hast made an end of tithing all thy fruits, in the third year of tithes thou shalt give it to the Levite, and to the stranger, and to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled.
