behold, I have done according to your word: behold, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there has been none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like you.


Yehudah and Yisra'el were many as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.


So Chiram gave Shlomo timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire.


Chiram sent to Shlomo, saying, I have heard [the message] which you have sent to me: I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.


Chiram sent in the navy his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Shlomo.


The king made silver and gold to be in Yerushalayim as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.


and we will cut wood out of Levanon, as much as you shall need; and we will bring it to you in floats by sea to Yafo; and you shall carry it up to Yerushalayim.*


So king Shlomo exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.


They gave money also to the masons, and to the carpenters; and food, and drink, and oil, to them of Tzidon, and to them of Tzor, to bring cedar trees from Levanon to the sea, to Yafo, according to the grant that they had of Koresh king of Paras.


But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.


I said to myself, *Behold, I have obtained for myself great wisdom above all who were before me in Yerushalayim. Yes, my heart has had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.*


Yehudah, and Eretz-Yisra'el, they were your traffickers: they traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnit, and confections, and honey, and oil, and balm.


Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tzor and Tzidon. They came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus, the king's personal aide, their friend, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king's country for food.


Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Yarden, that goodly mountain, and Levanon.
