He went up to the altar that he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, in the month that he had devised from his own heart. And he instituted a feast for the people of Israel and went up to the altar to make offerings.


if my step has turned aside from the way and my heart has gone after my eyes, and if any spot has stuck to my hands,


Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds.


For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.


And it shall be to you as a sign on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth. For with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.


Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
